Spring time!!!

Spring is here! Sun, rain, sun, rain...and we love it! We've been busy around here doing yard work, planting flowers, spending Saturday mornings at the baseball fields and just being outside as much as possible. We've also had a few bbq's already and our first fire of the season where we made smores too...so much fun!

Duane had the lawn aerated a couple weeks ago and has been busy fertilizing, sanding and seeding the lawn. I think growing up in Lynden has rubbed off on him more than he realizes :) We WILL have the most beautiful lawn in the neighborhood according to him! I love it! He's also been coaching his nephew's baseball team when he can make it, so the past couple of Saturdays we've been out there. Abbey loves going and seeing everyone.

While he's been busy with the lawn, I've been busy in the flower beds...one of my favorite things! I spent $70 more dollars at VanWingerdens the other day on flowers and bushes and got them all planted. We also planted a bunch of Dahlia bulbs (from Trisha) and a tomato plant (from Tammy and Zach), which are new this year. We'll see how they do :)

Abbey got a new watering can and has been my BIG helper planting and watering all of the new flowers. She loves it and it gives her something constructive to do. She's also been enjoying her big girl bike...she's pretty good on it! She is outside whenever she can!

Ella cut her two top teeth this past week or so, so that is new and she is also a HUGE outdoor lover! Anytime the garage door opens she crawls to the door (like a puppy) and waits for someone to open it. She kicks her legs and smiles when we take her out...SO happy! She wasn't sure about the grass at first, and would shudder when she touched it, but now she is crawling all over it, and getting dirty! We also put the baby swing up on the swing set, so she's been loving swinging with her sister! They laugh at each other and scream...lot's of fun!

Well, that's the update on us! Wishing you all a HAPPY SPRING too!

Easter

Our Easter was busy and fun. We dyed eggs, went to church, my parents house, and then brunch at Monte and Trish's house. Abbey got to participate in an egg hunt at each house and came home with tons of eggs and candy! Oh, and I can't forget how much fun I had dressing the girls alike in their pretty dresses, they were so cute :)

more Aquarium pictures

my favorite posts are pictures :) They tell the story themselves!

A trip to the Seattle Aquarium

We've been wanting to go to the Aquarium for a while now, and Duane had 4 days off last weekend, (and it was his birthday the 14th) so it was a good excuse to go! We got a hotel room Friday night....went walking on the piers and waterfront to the Sculpture park, met Candace for dinner at Anthony's and went to the Aquarium Saturday morning. It was so much fun! Jerry, Vicki and Michelle came with us too, and made it all the more fun :) Abbey is at a great age for it, she just loved it. Her favorites were the mini Seahorses, some kind of "big" crab, and watching the scuba diver clean the tanks. :)

Ella's pierced ears!

Ella got her ears pierced a couple of weeks ago! She did really well (only a little crying) and they look adorable! Here are some pics...

Sitting up!

Ella is 7 1/2 months old now and almost two weeks ago she started sitting up on her own! I love this age, it's so much fun! I love seeing the world through her eyes...she is enjoying different toys now, enjoying her baths more, and just loves playing on the ground. It's a lot of fun.

Also, this morning I noticed that she cut her first tooth!

Gym class

Ever since Abbey was 11 months old she's been involved in gymnastics classes and three years later she is still loving it! She's moved from a Mini Gymmie, to a Terrific Tot to most recently, a Super Tot! It is a great way for her to burn some of her everlasting energy, socialize with other kids and learn to take turns, share etc... Besides that she's learned a lot of skills. Her favorite things are the bars - she is such a monkey! Here are some pictures...enjoy!
